2017-11-04, Windows 10, Audacity 2.2.0
I frequently record some audio and then decide I do not want it. I click Stop / Skip to Start (Home) / Tracks / Remove Tracks.
Now a popup is displayed with “Disallowed. There was a problem with your last action. If you think this is a bug, please tell us exactly where it occurred.”
This worked in version 2.1.3. Please advise.
Does clicking the little [X] at the upper left of the track work?
Koz
Click on the track (anywhere) so that the track is selected before selecting “Tracks > Remove Tracks”.
(In my opinion, it is a minor bug that the recorded track is not already selected)
“Does clicking the little [X] at the upper left of the track work?”
Yes it does. Thanks.
“Click on the track (anywhere) so that the track is selected before selecting “Tracks > Remove Tracks”.”
That works. Thanks.
Just for information: The reason that deleting was “Disallowed” was because " Tracks > Remove Tracks" operates on all selected tracks. If there are no tracks selected, then the command is not valid. This did not occur with a default install of older versions, because if no tracks were selected, Audacity would automatically select the entire project (all tracks) and delete everything.
