To give us a little push, what are you trying to record?
Koz
I have my mixer patched into the PC sound card.
I was recording a guitar passage, I looked at the monitor and observed that the cursor on Audacity was blinking at the left of the track and not moving.
I have been using Audacity for 14 months, I have not had trouble in the past with this.
If you want a push as in motivation, it is a Epiphone SG400 Pro guitar with an assortment of pedals to shape the sound.
I’ve had good results with the recordings in the past.
This is one song:

Thank you. So it’s the stereo Line-Out of the sound mixer into the Stereo Line-In of your desktop machine? Via maybe one of these:

Save all of your existing work and restart the machine. This has all the symptoms of multiple drivers and sound programs tying each other in knots.
I have been using Audacity for 14 months
When the machine comes back up, you should probably find out if you still have as much room on the drives as you need.
Start > My Computer > Right-Click C: > Properties. Note the total size and the amount left. Also make sure you defragment and error check the drive. Audacity will not capture to a full or highly fragmented drive. Live recording and sound production takes up a lot of room and you can paint yourself into a corner very easily.
Let us know the results.

To the top right hand of your picture you see a picture of a microphone. It currently has: C-Media PCI Audio: SPDIF IN.
Unless you’ve plugged into a SPDIF input, this won’t work. Click the drop down box and select say C-Media PCI Audio: Line In.
If it isn’t there, check your audio properties and make sure Line in is selected as your default input under Recording Properties.

Yes, that is the problem, I had the wrong input.
I am not sure how it happened but, I will be much more observant of the settings in the future.
Thank you.
Good luck in your recording endeavours.
Damien
