Audacity automatically assigns clip names as the track name plus the clip number within the track. E.g., for track “April 28” 5th clip, Audacity assigns name “April 28.5” or the like). I often rename clips with various mnemonics. However, applying an effect or multi-effect macro to a clip eliminates the custom name I assigned, reverting to the default clip name. This is bad, losing information and causing inefficiency.
Why does applying Audacity effects to a clip cause of the custom name I had assigned to that clip, and how can I prevent this from happening?
