Why am I being wrongly charged USD83.88? I did not subscribe

My credit card was charged USD 83.88 on 16th Feb 2025 although I did not subscribe to Audacity. Appeared on my transactions as “Audio.com for Audacity Limassol CY”. Can Admin or Support look into this matter urgently? Appreciated.

I guess that a forum admin here has no access to any financial transactions. And support of Audio.com? I am quite sure that nobody from there is reading here…

Your best choice is probably to ask your credit card company to reverse the charge and complain with the company that charged you - if you find a contact address on their web site (I did not).

When you download Audacity, you are not asked for a credit card number, so at some other point you must have indicated it. Since Audacity is a free product, you probably got an “offer” to use their cloud services or whatever - which you, inadvertently, seem to have accepted.

This forum is basically a community forum. One Muse Group employee drops by from time to time, but the rest of us are just Audacity users (including a couple of former team members prior to Muse Group acquiring Audacity). Muse Group provide the forum infrastructure.

Your first step should be to contact your credit card company if you have not already done so. Then contact audio.com directly - the email address provided on their website is: support@audio.com
