Hi there. I’m new to Audacity so please forgive my ignorance. I have a .aup file in a folder witch contains all data files. When I open this project with Audacity no timeline appears in my screen, and therefore I can’t export my project. I’m I missing something? Did a lot of searching which returned no results. Thanks for helping.
A Project is an AUP file with instructions to Audacity how to construct the show out of the work in the separate _DATA folder.
I have a .aup file in a folder witch contains all data files.
It doesn’t work like that. Pull the AUP file out of the _DATA folder, double click it and see if the show opens.

Yes, that’s what I actually mean. I have the .aup file and the _DATA folder stored separately. Audacity opens with no error messages the project, but I can’t seem to find it nowhere!
When opening the project there’s a pop up reading “when checking the data files, 528 orphan group files have been found non related with the project” etc. I don’t know if my translation is accurate, but it seems this is the problem. Any ideas? Thank you.
Does it also say that files are missing? If not, that is bad news, because it may mean there are no AU files referenced in the AUP file.
Please attach the AUP file. Please see here for how to attach files: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/how-to-attach-files-to-forum-posts/24026/1 Also open Help > Show Log… , save the log as a file and attach that. There will be a button at the bottom of the log window or a menu item at the top to save the log.
Please also tell us your version of Audacity and Windows (see the pink panel at the top of the page).
