Where are Lame files? [SOLVED]

Using Mac 10.11.6 (El capitan) I can download the lame plug in but the library can’t find it. Every time I try to export the files to MP3 I get the message that I need to download LAME. Any idea what is happening here?

Make sure you have Audacity 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ (see the pink panel at the top of this page).

Then use the LAME 3.99.5 installer as instructed in the FAQ: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_mac_os_x.html#maclame.

Thank you, this seems to have worked. I think an old Audacity was hanging around.
