When is release 2.1.2 due?

Any idea when we can expect release 2.1.2?

Noel

Probably within a couple of weeks. Recent bug fixes are currently being tested, so as long as there are no unforeseen problems the next step in the release schedule is to build the release candidates for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Any update when v2.1.2 is due to be released please?

Noel

We found a problem where at least one Anti-Virus application (McAfee) frequently prevents Audacity 2.1.2-alpha from updating its configuration files. Audacity 2.1.1 barely shows this problem, so we want to fix this before 2.1.2 is released.

We are now aiming for early January 2016.

Is there some specific reason for your interest in 2.1.2, such as a bug fix it contains? If so you can probably use the 2.1.2 rc1, which would have been released if not for the anti-virus problem. http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html.

Unfortunately a problem was discovered in the Windows rc1, so the release has been delayed, probably until January.

I was asking when v2.1.2 would be released as I wanted to inform my colleagues - so Jan 2016 is good for the time being.

For me I think there was bug fix due in 2.1.2 regarding a problem when creating chains. I tried to crete a new “chain” and the settings failed and I was informed this was due to be fixed in 2.1.2 - so guess I will wait until Jan 2016 as well.

Pressing “Edit Parameters” when Equalization is selected is fixed. If the workaround of creating a new named curve is not suitable for you, go ahead and use 2.1.2rc1.

If you are using McAfee you may need to add Audacity as an exception for real-time scanning.

Audacity has been about for 14 years and is still in v2.x.x. Shows how right they got it first time.
