I have windows 8. I have been trying to record from Youtube, using audacity 2.0.5. But when I do record, it is very quiet. I have tried to change the sound settings on my computer but I am not sure what I should be changing them to. I also have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 soundcard. But I don’t think this is relevant when recording from the internet. I have followed the tutorials but it is still very quiet. I am sure it is something simple but I am just not sure what. It would be really helpful if there was someone who could possibly talk me through it on the phone. Thanks
Just to add to my previous query, I have Windows 8.1, using audacity 2.0.5. Trying to record from Youtube, have followed tutorials but it is recording it very quietly. I am sure it is something to do with the sound settings but I am not sure what. Thanks
The current version of Audacity is 2.1.1 which is available here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/
The best way to record sounds playing on your computer (Windows Vista and later) is to use “WASAPI”. (I’m not sure if that option is available in Audacity 2.0.5, but you should update at your earliest convenience).
