What is the meaning of this waveform?

Hi, I have a question about the waveform of my recording. So I recorded the same record, but I changed the stylus, which made a clear difference. The first part of the waveform shows the recording with the old stylus and the second part the new stylus. What is the meaning of the top and bottom part of the blue waveform? Why is it not symmetrical in the first part?

Something was mechanically wrong… Somehow the stylus movement was being limited. I’m not sure what kind of movement restriction would cause that, but stereo is from complex-combined 2-dimensinal motion. Stereo Disc Recording

I don’t know what a stylus is, but it looks very much like the left part of your signalgram is recorded in antiphase.

Hello, the stylus is the needle which sits in the groove of the record. What exactly can cause antiphase?

I don’t know. Maybe the polarity of the phono cartridge is different?
