Recorded an hour long podcast on a Mac that has a trackpad that’s acting wonky. When the show was over it asked if I wanted to save the audio and I accidentally hit NO instead of YES. Is that audio gone forever? I’ve read about Audacity Recovery Programs but it looks like they don’t work on Macs.
Macs work on a version of the Linux operating system. Linux doesn’t save work until it needs the space, it steps on the space pretty quickly. Recovery systems for Macs are pretty much a fairy tale.
There is nothing to recover as far as Audacity is concerned.
If your Mac uses an older spinning disk drive, you could try disk recovery software. Install that application on and recover to another drive. Don’t be surprised if there is nothing to recover.
We tried it professionally at work once. We got fragments and pieces. Nothing valuable.
