Waveforms don't show at all

,

I’m loving Audacity 4 so far, but it’s hard to work when there are no waveforms at all:

I don’t get why, because every video of Audacity 4 I’ve seen shows the waveforms, and each track visualization is set to waveform. I’m on Fedora KDE Wayland, if that helps. Is anybody else experiencing something similar?

Could be a Wayland-related rendering issue. I’d try switching to X11 first, or updating Audacity/GPU drivers to see if the waveforms return.

All my drivers are updated, and I’m using the latest binary from the official website. Should I try to build from source?

A far better idea is to go back to 3.7.9. I confess I don’t understand how you are loving it when it doesn’t actually work.

To be fair, I love the idea of Audacity 4 more than the little I’ve managed to do in it. Personally, I don’t get how they worked on a full upgrade of the program and didn’t make an actually useful EQ effect. Guess Audacity 3/Tenacity it is…
