.wav formating

I am trying to get a .wav file down to a “8bit 8000Hz PCM mono” for some specific software. It will NOT take anything other than this format. As far as I can see Audacity won’t go any lower than 16bit? Is this correct or am I missing something? Thank you…

Assuming that you are using the current 2.3.0 version of Audacity:

First, set the “Project Rate” to 8000 (lower left corner of the main Audacity window). Files are exported at the current project rate.

“File menu > Export > Export Audio”
Then select “Other uncompressed files”
Select “WAV (Microsoft)” as the header, and “Unsigned 8-bit” as the Encoding.
