Warning - Missing Audio Data Block Files

Hello everyone,

I’m having a problem concerning a saved project. During my editing process, Audacity crashed while I was still working. After rebooting my laptop, I tried to reopen the same project and, once the file has been opened, Audacity warns me that my project was saved anyway during the crash and that it can be recovered. But this is the grafic I get:

As you can see from the screenshot above I can clearly see the audio waves but they are not as always, like something is missing. In fact, when I try to play the tracks they’re all silent. So I proceed trying to get a diagnostic in order to understand the problem. and this is the grafic and message I get:

Eventually, I tried to export my file to the mp3 extension, in order to try to recover the file, but this is the grafic I get:

Do you know how to fix this problem? Is it possible to recover the tracks? Thank you in advance.

Andrea

Unfortunately, if someone knew how to recover the tracks, they would have posted by now. :frowning:

On the bright side, a new version of audacity which addresses orphaned files and project structure is hoped for during the first quarter of 2021.
