I’ve used Audacity for a long time to combine two separate files/mp3s to be combined and played in sync. To be specific, one file is for percussion parts and a separate file is dedicated to wind instrument parts. During editing, I will continuously re-export the mp3’s from my music notation software to playback with the other track in Audacity.
I’m using a new computer now to work on music. On my old computer, I got used to the luxury of Audacity automatically reading the updated mp3 files and playing back my edits and changes without me having to manually remove and re-import the new track/file back into Audacity. Now I’m using a new computer and I’ve reinstalled all of these programs, and I’m not sure if there was a specific setting that allowed Audacity to playback the imported tracks directly from the file. Does anybody know how I could accomplish this?
To be clear, in the process of editing music, I repeatedly export to mp3 from Sibelius, which overwrites the existing file. This file will currently be imported into Audacity, but Audacity does not play the overwritten/updated mp3. It will still play the mp3 that I imported into Audacity originally. I’d like for Audacity to playback changes I make as I overwrite the file while the file is still imported as a track in Audacity.
