Hi. I am a total newbie, so I need everything spelt out in simple English. I am not a techie so I have to explain exactly what I need to do. Here it is: I downloaded a VST plug in - a Pecheneg tremolo effect. I put it in the Audacity folder and it shows under the Effects- manager window. However when I try to open it to the selected track I wish to add the tremolo to, nothing appears on the screen. I would be so grateful for any help out there to make this thing work. For some reason there is no tremolo option available in the drop down menu- that is why I got the VST download.
Don’t forget to tell us your version of Audacity (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page).
Audacity supplied by us at http://audacityteam.org/download/windows
already has a built-in Tremolo effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tremolo.html.
See http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/manage_effects_generators_and_analyzers.html for how to enable effects. In the “Plug-in Manager”, click on the “Pecheng Tremolo” row, then press SPACE on your computer keyboard, or click the “Enable” button in the Manager dialogue. Then click the OK button in the Manager dialogue.
The effect then appears below the divider in the bottom section of the Effect Menu.
