Volume Control mp3

Is it possible to turn the volume up on an mp3 clip using audacity if so can someone please tell me how to do it.

Not directly. The only way to “turn up the volume” of an audio file in Audacity would be to import it, make it louder then export it to a new file. Audacity always work with “uncompressed” audio data, so importing an MP3 will “decode” the MP3 and it then needs to be encoded again if you want an MP3 file at the end. Encoding to MP3 always loses some sound quality, so it would be better to use software that can change the volume directly in the MP3 without decoding / re-encoding.

There is a variety of software for such tasks, such as MP3Gain and mp3DirectCut (http://mpesch3.de1.cc/mp3dc.html)
