vinyl disc voice warbling distortion from Audio Technica

Just started having problems when recording from vinyl disc from Audio Technica ATLP120USB. There is a warbling distortion or crackling sound which is annoying, however it seems to be filtered out in the playback of the recording…was not happening when first set up.
I have selected
MME
REALTEC HD AUDIO OUTPUT
USB AUDIO CODEC
2 STEREO INPUT
Any suggestions
I thought I had wrecked the stylus so I purchased a new one but it was not the cause of the problem.

What does that mean? The digital recording from Audacity is OK?

It might be an “audio enhancement” setting in Windows. See this page.

Or, you can get warbling with a low-bitrate MP3. Background crackling can be normal vinyl record noise. If you get crackling during loud parts, that could be clipping (overload distortion), it could be permanently part of the record, or cartridge tracking distortion.

Your turntable has line-level outputs… You can check the “analog side” by plugging the RCA analog outputs into your stereo system (or your TV if it has A/V inputs).

And if you have a desktop computer with a regular soundcard and line-in, you can try recording from the analog outputs. (Don’t use the microphone input on a laptop.)
