I am able to do recordings on windows 10 laptop using Pentium IV processor.
It is taking too much time to export Flac files. Is there a Flac compression level adjustment on Audacity ?

Yes. When you select Flac format in the Export dialog, there’s a multi-choice button labeled “Level:” with settings from 0 to 8 (default = 5).
I doubt that it will make a lot of difference to the export speed, but it may help a bit.
We had a regression bug spotted by a user recently when he reported WAX exports on Windows running 6-7 times slower than in 2.3.3
We have already fixed this fro the upcoming 2.4.2 _ I fif the QA testing and I am satisfied that we have got it back to 2.3.3 levels.
