How do I record from you tube and use headphones without the sound playing thru the computers speakers?

Don’t record from YouTube. Find a program to download the YouTube video. Whatever format that video is in, you can probably bring the audio into Audacity with the ffmpeg importer.

I agree. I use Clipgrab and it works great. It even lets you download just the audio from a video.
