Whenever I try to record using my blue yeti USB mic, it doesn’t run.
I’m following the instructions exactly as it suggests on the blue yeti site and also checked a number of audacity tutorials. Selecting the mic in preferences for both speaker and mic but it doesn’t pick up on monitoring and the recording simply wont start. If I flick to my default laptop mic however, it works fine.
I’m not using a USB adapter and the mic works perfectly with audacity on my PC.
Did that show up in a tutorial somewhere? Since the Yeti is not a speaker, there’s no reason to do that. You should put that settings to whatever your normal speaker system is.
I don’t know we have the last word on this, but I think it’s still true, the Yeti doesn’t directly support Windows 10.
Lots of claims to make sure you have the right driver software.
Yeti says don’t plug the mic into a multi USB port, plug it straight into the PC/laptop, which I’m doing. The issue i’m having is on my laptop but if I test it on my PC (using windows 10) with audacity, it works fine. I’m using exactly the same settings on both.
Reboot the laptop, then plug in the mic. Wait a few moments for Windows to find it, then open the Windows Sound Control Panel and look in the Recording tab to see if the mic is present and is enabled. When you speak into the mic you should see green bars moving in response to the sound. Does that work?
