URGENT! Large audio file won't export

Hi, me and some friends just finished recording a 7 hr and 30 min podcast, and for some reason it is only exporting about 40 minutes of the file. Obviously I don’t want to lose this file, why is it only exporting part of it? What can I do to fix it? Thanks.

My guess is that you are trying to export as a WAV file.
WAV files have a size limit of 4GB. Try exporting in a different format such as FLAC, or split the recording into multiple parts (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html)

7 hr and 30 min podcast

Is this your first show of that length? Do you get any good comments at the bottom?

What’s the subject of the show and what’s the address?

Which platform is it on? How did you get someone to agree to host a podcast that long?

Who are your guests? Do you serve lunch half-way through? Snack breaks?

I wouldn’t mind a Ding Dong® and herbal tea break about every half-hour or so. The Brits may want something stronger…and with milk.

If you’re in a Major Metro Area, you can get all sorts of things delivered in semi-real time. A local restaurant is up to six food service tablets stacked next to the Point Of Sale Terminal (formerly cash register). Grub Hub, Snackies, etc. If you do this just right, you can get a production assistant to present the delivery person a release form as they get out of their truck/car/van and fold them into the show. If you’re in Los Angeles or New York, they’re all starving actors anyway and will fit right in. Order extra food. The poor dears probably haven’t eaten since goodness knows when.

Do you have Emergency Rescue on speed dial should any of the guests expire from the exertion of a 7 hour show?

Just wondering. I don’t know anybody with a podcast that long.
