Windows or Audio Driver applying Unwanted EQ to recordings made with Audacity 3.7.1
EUREKA!!!
I FOUND THE CULPRIT…
And here is the result when I record white noise from the previously used noise generator website:
MUCH FLATTER! No strange dip around 650Hz, looks like the spectro off a studio monitor.
Whew.
Thanks for all your patience and attempts to understand what I was going through.
So how did I figure it out?
Well, I did a search for Dolby Access in the search field in the Win11 taskbar, and got goose eggs.
So I opened the scroll down for All > Programs, and right there, under D: Dolby Access.
Opened the program. clicked settings, and there it was: “Dolby Audio Effects…” Toggled ON by default. I toggled that motherphucker right off, and, all set.
I hope that my experience helps others with the same problem.
