EUREKA!!!

I FOUND THE CULPRIT…

And here is the result when I record white noise from the previously used noise generator website:

MUCH FLATTER! No strange dip around 650Hz, looks like the spectro off a studio monitor.

Whew.

Thanks for all your patience and attempts to understand what I was going through.

So how did I figure it out?

Well, I did a search for Dolby Access in the search field in the Win11 taskbar, and got goose eggs.

So I opened the scroll down for All > Programs, and right there, under D: Dolby Access.

Opened the program. clicked settings, and there it was: “Dolby Audio Effects…” Toggled ON by default. I toggled that motherphucker right off, and, all set.

I hope that my experience helps others with the same problem.
