Unwanted Reverb In Headphone Monitor

Hello All,

Hopefully this is the right space for this question.

I’m using a Steinburg UR-22C audio interface, a 770 MXL mic, and Tascams for headphones to monitor as I record and playback.

Currently I’m getting profound reverb in my headphones at all times that the mic is plugged in.

Listening to playback recording however the reverb is absent as it should be.

I’ve attached a screen shot of my current settings.

Any thoughts on how to remove this?

Thank you in advance\for your help!

It’s pretty safe to stick to the forum for your computer type.

The goal is to listen to your mixer or interface, not the computer. The mixer should be able to mix Audacity playback and your live performance with no audible damage. That’s Overdubbing.

These Audacity Preference settings can cause problems.

Selecting Software Playthrough can cause echoes.

I need to look up your interface.

Oh. Cool. See that MIX knob? that should let you fade between the Audacity backing track playback and your live performance in real time. In other words, Perfect Theatrical Overdubbing.
