unwanted pitch change when overdub recording [SOLVED]

Hi everybody!

Sorry for my bad English speaking…

First of all
PC hp pavillion
Windows 10
Audacity 2.1.0
Soundcard realtek
W/ pod hd500x by USB.

No problem when I want to record the first track.
But when I want to record the second track and the followers, audacity apply pitch effect automatically.
For example I play the first track in G.
I record the second track normally. When I play, second track is in F.

I installed, reinstalled, reset preferences…
Nothing
Help me please
Neox

Does the first track still play in G?
If you record a third track, does it also play in F, or has it gone even lower?

Whatever the tone, the second track and all the following are pitched a tone down… :frowning:

Yes, but does the first track still play in G, and if you record a third track, does it also play in F, or has it gone even lower?

In F too

What is the “Project Rate” set to in Audacity? (lower left corner of the main window)
If it’s set to 44100, try setting it to 48000. If it’s set to 48000, try setting it to 44100. Then make a test recording.
If that helps, then we can set it as the default.

You’re my god

Now, i solve the problem.

First, for the soundcard properties, 16 bits, 44100 hz
Audacity properties : 16 bits, 44100 hz or 32 bits floating 44100 hz only. Others properties 24 bits or 48000 hz are not good

Thanks

To set the defaults, go to “Edit menu > Preferences > Quality”
32-bit float format is the default Sample Format and is recommended for best quality.

Ok thanks.
This topic is solved for me.
