Unsynching tracks

I’m a new user to Audacity and have been having from trouble that a more experienced user couldn’t help me with. I use Windows 10 Audacity version 2.3.2

I’ve got two tracks that I’m trying to play at the same time, but have one start a few seconds after the other. But every time I try to slide the second track down the timeline, the first track slides with it. Is there anything I can do to unlock the tracks so I can slide one track left or right but have the other track stay where it is?

I already tried selecting only one track but every time I do, it just puts a line on the spot where I clicked instead of letting me select the track itself.

If you’re only selecting one track, but all the tracks are moving,
maybe you’ve engaged “sync lock” by accident ?

You have to engage the time-shift tool to be able to slide tracks …
