When I record stereo, I used to get 2 flat lines and the regular wave patterns from my voice, but now even if I’m not recording any vocal and just press record, the top line is “thicker” and the bottom line has what looks like static (wish I could add a picture). Anyone has had this issue before and was able to fix it? I usually connect my Blue Yeti directly to my laptop usb drives. I’ve tried the other USB ports and a different blue yeti mic but the problem still persists.
Some things to check:
Make sure you’ve selected the USB mic as your Recording Device.
Check your Permissions/Privacy Settings to make sure Audacity is allowed to use the USB mic. (Sometimes a Windows update will turn-off access.)
Make sure the recording volume slider, which is now “hidden” under the recording meters, is set to maximum.
