Undo makes the scrollbar jump

Expected behavior:
I want to make a slight adjustment to the volume of a track, then repeatedly hit undo/redo to compare before and after.

Actual behavior:
I hit undo and all of a sudden the scrollbar jumps to the location of the PREVIOUS edit! If I hit redo, it DOESN’T take me back to where I was. So now I’m lost. I don’t know where I was. I’m not sure what’s been undone. It totally sucks.

I’m not sure if this is deliberate, but it’s really weird behavior and totally sucks.

Audacity 2.4.2

  1. generate 30 second chirp
  2. Select 5-10 seconds
  3. Effect Amplify
  4. Place cursor at 25 seconds
  5. Undo
  6. Observe the amplification is undone and selection is 5-10 seconds
  7. Redo
  8. Observe amplification is restored
  9. Observe cursor is replace at 25 seconds (step 4 position)
