Hi,
I have recorded a Skype call for a podcast creation using Soundflower and rerouting all the inputs etc.
I get a nice recording in audacity however when I export as an mp3 the sound is shifted way higher in the left speaker.
I have no idea what’s going on here!

Neither have we. Recording Skype with Audacity is a difficult process, so you’ll need to spell out what “rerouting all the inputs” means.
I believe the below steps let you record Skype with Audacity, but no-one answers when we ask them exactly how they recorded Skype with Audacity. Is this what you are doing?
