Unanticipated Host Error

Hello all,

Ver 2.3.3, Windows 10

I receive this error when trying to open new tracks to record from but only when im trying to use the PHONES socket on my audio interface as playback. Its strange because i can listen back to the track with the headphones plugged in just fine, as well as being able to hear the playback of my instrument, but it will give these errors when trying to record. Which is quite frustrating as i get terrible latency issues with the bass guitar when the headphones are plugged into the PC. Which i guess is a separate issue.

Is it a restriction of this older interface?

Many thanks in advance.

Are you plugging in the headphones, or changing anything on the US-122L after opening Audacity?

Have you tried refreshing Audacity’s list of devices? (“Transport menu > Rescan Audio Devices”)?

That’s to be expected. Because there is no physical connection between the USB device and the PC’s headphone output, the sound has to be routed by software from the USB input to the PC headphone output - and that takes time (typically around half a second).
