Unable to select audio properly

Sometimes when I am editing audio, I am unable to select the text properly. Fir example if I click on a specific point, the mouse selects audio that may be an inch or two from the point I want to select. I’m using Crunchbang 11 with Audacity 2.0.1 which is in the Debian Wheezy repos that come with Crunchbang.

If I reboot my machine into Linux Mint 16 using Audacity 2.0.3, everything is fine. Any idea what is going on?

Have you accidentally gor Snap-To turned on - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/selection_toolbar.html
