Unable to record in stereo

I’ve made stereo recordings before but haven’t used Audacity for a while. When I now try to make a stereo recording it displays L and R channels, but they are identical, so not producing a stereo effect. I am using a Behringer UCA202 interface with Windows 10 and Audacity 2.2.2.
Would be grateful for any help.

Make sure Windows is also [u]configured for stereo[/u].

Thanks, I have followed those steps and configured Windows for stereo recording and now only the Left channel shows a waveform. The Right channel shows a continuous straight line.

Try swapping the L & R connections to the UCA202 and try plugging-in one at a time to make sure you don’t have a problem on the analog side.

Yes, it seems I am only getting an input from one of the two connectors. Looks like I need new connectors. Many thanks for your advice.
