I have been using Audacity 2.2.2 on windows 10 for digitising some C90 cassette tapes. I saved the projects using the “Save project as” option which sent them off to my documents folder. This week after a Windows 10 upgrade my PC had severe problems which resulted in me having to use the restore function. This had the effect of my PC loosing all apps including Audacity.
Having now reloaded my apps I find that I cannot retrieve a usable Audacity project file. It is only if I root through the sub directories that i end up with a 3 second clip of audio. Unfortunately I would have to join 2048 of these clips to return to a complete original recording.
For example:
- I Open a project file called Compilation_data
- Inside is a file e00
- Within this are 8 files d00 to d07
- Within each of these there are 256 audio files typical format e0000c1 which I can load into Audacity.
So at the moment the only way I can reproduce a complete file is to join each of the 256 audio files from each of the 8 sub directories d000 to d07. (2048 clips)
Please tell me there is a way round this problem. I assume in my original Audacity app there must have been a management file which would have organised my 2048 audio clips.
I have also tried the Import function without success.
