Unable to cancel macro

How does one stop a running macro on a set of files? I started a macro on a set of files, wanted to stop it. Pressing the cancel button on any of the various windows that were popping up rapidly did not appear to do anything. I did click cancel on the main window with the list of files being processed. I finally killed the process with Task Manager. I am using Audacity 3.1.0 64-bit with Windows 10 pro 64. Windows is presumably up-to-date.
Also, is there anyway to set parameters when exporting an MP3? I had forgotten to set them before running the task above.
Thanks -Jim

MP3 Export assumes the values of the last Export. So open a test clip and File > Export > MP3 at the settings you wish. Those will stick forever unless you change them.

I don’t know for sure, but I would select the Audacity window and Control+C.

Control+C (or ^C) is a universal programming halt keystroke. The trick is to find the “home” Audacity window.
