On one Audacity instance, I want to play instrumental music to a song, it will be played back through my speakers.
In another instance, I want to record (using the separate microphone), singing the text to the played music. I need the first instance running to hear AND see where to start each stanza, where to pause.
But as soon as I click the record button in the 2nd instance, all buttons in the 1st instance are grayed out and I cannot start the playback.
How can I get both instances of Audacity active?
You don’t need different instances of Audacity to overdub. Audacity was made to do overdubbing by itself.
