I have Windows 10 and have connected my old Dual turntable via a USB convertor and loaded the Audacity software. When I play an album in order to record it I hear no sound coming through my laptop speakers but the Audacity software seems to be recording the album (acc to the graphs I can see). Should I be connecting my turntable through my hi fi amp first so I can monitor the sound ?
Check your [u]Playback Device[/u]. Windows may have switched output and input to the USB device when you plugged it in.
