Trying to mix 2 audio files together

I am trying to mix a talking audio and a background music audio together. I open the first one fine but when I open the second one the first one goes blank so all I am left with is audio for the second track and the first track still shows but it is blank???

How do I import or open 2 audio files at the same time?

If you File > Import two audio tracks into Audacity one after the other, they should arrive one over the other and play at the same time. Isn’t that what you have?

I figured it out one of the mp3 files was bad
