Trouble connecting audio device to laptop

I’m using WIN 10, Audacity version 2.4.2
Just bought a cassette/CD player/recorder and to my shock it has only a headphone and AUX ports. Can I connect with just the audio cable plug from the device to my laptop and record with Audacity?? Thank you.

If your computer has a “stereo line in”, then you need to connect the cassette player “AUX out” to the computer “Line in”.
