hello guys i run an animation website and im trying to work with to diffent sounds in flash mx. one sound is sopossed to be background music and the other is supposed to be the vocals. i tried working with the track in audacity. when i turn the output sound down for the background music itll stay but as soon as i try to export it as an mp3 the sound goes back up again. it doesnt matter which program i load it in. i tried normalizing the track but it still doesnt work. does anyone have any suggestions

How are you turning the “output sound down”?
If you want the background music to be lower all the time, just adjust the gain slider to the left of the track. That will affect the volume of the exported file.
Could it be that Flash MX is automatically normalizing the files without telling you? That would undo any gain adjustments you make in Audacity. Besides, doesn’t Flash MX allow you to set the volume of the audio files you’re playing in the animation? It would be easier to adjust the volume using Flash than it would be to set the volume levels in Audacity make a bunch of new files.
