Tracks on LP

Hi:

I used Audacity 2.0.5 to copy an old LP. Worked fine. Used to track label to label tracks. Converted to both wav file with Audacity. When I play it in Windows Media Player it plays fine, but shows only as one long track for the entire album. How can I get it to recognize the individual tracks so I can play them separately? Am new to this, so any help appreciated.

File > Export will always give you one long file. File > Export Multiple should give you separate sound files.
I don’t know exactly where you got stuck, but that’s a good possibility.

This tutorial from the manual may help you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html

Hi:

Using Export Multiple did the trick. Thanks for the quick help. Now, one other quick question - I am having trouble saving my project file. If I hit save project, nothing happens. I have to close the program, then it asks if I want to save, and it worked fine. Any thought?

It won’t Save if no changes have been made since the last Save.
