There is a problem with trimming the audio file

when i select an area to cut , there appears a black line n the audio file splits into two .
if i put more than 2 cuts or delete a section the audio file is splitting everytime . how to correct it ?

There is a know issue in 3.2.2

so either revert to 3.7.1 - or wait for the impending 3.7.3 which should be out soon - as this and other related issues are fixed in the 3.7.3 patch release (I just tested the latest test build and all looks good again).

OOPS - I meant 3.7.x - I just corrected the original post [blushes deeply]

Thanks for the catch Mark,

Thanks . but can you tell me how to revert to 3.7.1 . i am just downloading it from the official website . yesterday i reinstalled it 6 times.

A quick note. You can’t just “Back Up.” You have to remove your existing Audacity program software and the setup files. Audacity hangs onto the setup files between versions in order to let you do updates quickly with the greatest possible ease.

The"ease thing" falls apart a little if the setup files get broken. Then the damage hangs around like a disease.

Install the new app after the machine is clean. No, I’m not a good authority on doing that.

Another note. 3.7.2 has been discovered to have some pretty serious edit tool damage.

In my opinion you should stick with a known, good, working Audacity and check the forum for damage before you do an update. People with slate-colored hair used to do that all the time with legacy software.

Rushing right into The Latest Update isn’t always the best idea…is it?
