Hi everyone,
I’ve been playing with Audacity a few days and I’ve learnt only the basics. Yesterday I tested some effects, and today, I’ve realized that the recordings sounds weird.
I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall Audacity (I’m using the last version 2.0.5) but it doesn’t work.
Is there any option to restore all the default preferences and values of the program???
Thank you very much!
Audacity only records the signal you give it.
Unless you are recording at very low project rate or you have an external recording device and have not matched the sample rates properly, then Audacity settings are not likely to be the problem.
See here for how to reinstall Audacity while resetting preferences http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#reset .
If the recordings sound like they are in a tunnel, see here:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#enhancements .
If that doesn’t help, please tell us what version of Windows you have, tell us exactly what you are recording and post an audio sample of the problem.

Was the problem the Windows sound enhancements?
