Super USB Cassette Capture's Built-in Input Does Not Pick Up Sound from the Cassette

I have the Audacity 2.1.3, which I just bought on line. I have a macOS 10.13.6. I hooked up the Audacity following the directions the best I could. The directions are flimsy. I downloaded the correct updated version of LAME, and the /Library/Application Support/audacity/libs/ffmpeg.55.64bit.dylib.

The cassette’s built-in mic will record, but the built-in Input does not show any signal at all. I have spent hours fooling around with this to no avail.

Please help.

I hope you didn’t buy Audacity because it’s open source. Maybe it came with the cassette player? You can download version 2.3.3 here.

Make sure you select the USB device as your Recording Device. …Beyond that, someone else will have to help because I’m a Windows guy.

I downloaded the correct updated version of LAME,

LAME is ONLY for exporting to MP3 so it’s unrelated to your problem, and LAME is now built-into Audacity. For various other formats you may need the optional FFMPEG library.
