Hello All,
I have Audacity 2.3.2 in Windows 7.
During the first uses, when recording stereo, both left and right had the wave lines.
For the last three or four days, is not doing that, is there a way to solve this.
I can still see the whole stereo track ( Left & Right ) but nothing shows on the track below, I guess that would be left.
I have a Presonus interface, if I plug the mic/Inst on channel 1 it record only on the top track, and on the bottom track 2, if plug into channel 2.
The preferences have Stereo RECORDING, not MONO.
Please help, Thanks,
Jose

A single microphone (or a single instrument) is mono.
A true-mono recording will play through both speakers.
One thing to be aware of - If you record in mono and use only one channel the signal will be cut in half (to leave room for the other channel to be mixed-in) and you’ll only be able to hit -6dB maximum. That’s not a big deal and you can use the Amplify effect after recording.
Or if you record in stereo, you’ll have to either convert to mono or make a “stereo” file by copying from one channel to the other. (There’s a little drop-down arrow to the left of the waveform that can make a mono file, or “split” the stereo file so you can edit left & right independently.)
