I have the latest version of AUdacity which I have reinstalled not about 6 times in my MAC running El Capitan 10.11.5
Audacity begins recording fine - lasts for about 20-30 minutes then starts recording with really heavy static. Not something you can corect. If you imagine what it was like years ago when we walked by a radio with a cell phone there used to be a crazy amount of clicky static - that’s what happens. It is random and you can see it if you look up at the wave it is all spikes maybe 10 or more per second. Unusable audio. However if I record in reaper that doesnt happen. Ive been using audacity to edit because i dont know how to edit in reaper. Is there a known fix for this?
(normally you should refer to the release version of the manual which is included in the dmg download, but in this case the problem appeared after the release of Audacity 2.1.2)
While that FAQ appeared after 2.1.2 release, the actual problem on some Mac’s goes back to any Audacity version current when Mavericks or later were released.
If you need more help, please say exactly what you are recording with exactly what equipment (makes and model numbers are good) and tell us exactly what version of Audacity you have according to Audacity > About Audacity… .
