Hi, I just downloaded Audacity 2.1.1 and I’m running it on Windows 10. I only want the program for one task primarily, possibly 2. I have a cd recorder and I am in the process of moving old music tapes to cd with all the music on one track (actually 2, one for each side of the tape.) Can someone tell me which function I need to get the track markers placed between the songs? This is all I want the program for and thought it would be easier to just ask as try to wade my way through all the options trying to find what I want, particularly since I’m not all that familiar with the terminology. I plan to rip the cd’s to the computer to an mp3 file format. I may also want to shorten the gap between the tape sides, and I assume that would be an easy task on this program as well. Thank you in advance for any help.

Be aware that MP3 is lossy quality. You can’t play MP3 CD’s in cars or standalone CD players. For those you need to burn a lossless “audio CD”, exporting your songs to WAV for the CD. See Burning music files to a CD.
