splitting recordings into tracks

I am using the software to convert my vinyl records into .wav files to use in my ipod.

I have been having problems splitting these recordings into separate tracks.

I have been following the instructions and I am confident that I am doing the steps as outlined in the manual.

Whether I use “add label at selection” or use “add label at playback position”, I can not type a label immediately after choosing the selection at the end of the song. I have to click on the flag so the label can accept a typed word.

When I click on the flag, it results in making another track, so, when I export multiple tracks, I end up exporting, for example, 8 tracks when there are only 5 songs. The 3 extra tracks resulted from the extra click I made so I could type into the label.

This is the forum where we discuss the color of the banners and the font style in the postings. Pleas repost in the forum appropriate to your machine and versions.

Do you like the blue in the banners? I think the font style is Helvetica. It’s pretty easy to read.

I guess it must be me, Koz, but I find “Forum Issues” pretty clear as a topic.

How are these user ever going to get anything recorded on Audacity if they can’t read basic instructions.

Yup, the 2-tone blues are nice, but I would dispense with the smilies.

Also there is a relatively new poster, STICKMEUPNOW WHO CAN ONLY WRITE IN CAPITALS.

Perhaps some kind moderator could give him lesson 1 in forum posting etiquette.
