Splitting audio tracks

Hi guys,

I recorded a mix from my CD decks and have this as a WAV file. I’d like to split the recording up into it’s individual tracks however the advice on the forum regarding labeling doesn’t seem to be working for me.

When i transfer the file to the Audacity programme i’m meant to click in the recording where it begins then click project > add label selection to create the first gap. Then so on until the recording is split as desired. The problem i have is that when i click in the project, nothing happens.

Could you provide any insight as to where i’m going wrong please?
