I have Windows 7.0. I record my voice to make audio tracks using Audacity and then upload them to a website. I want to record my voice with the effect of a “dreamlike” experience. I have heard it on TV and radio. It has slight echo but it’s more of an “out of body” like voice effect. Not merely an echo. I also want to record my voice as if it’s cominig over the telephone. Again, I’ve heard this on radio commercials, etc. Can Audacity create these two effects? How?
For a “dreamy” effect, try the “L-voice” effect that is available as an optional plug-in here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/ls-voice-simulation/18288/1
Instructions for how to install plug-ins: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins#Installing_Plug-ins
For a telephone effect, try the telephone preset in the Equalization effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/equalization.html
