speakers no longer working

Since I loaded the Audacity software and followed the instruction on the Audio-technical manual to set up my turntable I can no longer hear sound when watching you-tube video’s. I shows the driver usb audio codex as the driver when I click on the speaker in the bottom right had corner. I have windows 10. to set his up I went under preferences on the audacity software. I am not sure if loading this software changed a setting somewhere that I have not been able to find yet… Thank you, Keith

It probably shouldn’t say that. A common problem is your computer is trying to send sound back out to the turntable. I bet if you unplug the turntable, all your sound will come back.

You should set Windows playback to your normal sound system, not the turntable.

I thought we had a tutorial about this…

There’s a series of tutorials in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html

See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_playback.html#usb

Please note that Audacity does not yet officially support Windows 10, though in most cases it appears to work correctly (provided that the computer has sound card drivers that are fully functional).
