Sound stops working after Audacity Reduce Background Noise

To reproduce:

1. Open an Audacity project
2. Create a new track (I dragged an mp3 into the project)
3. Reduce background noise on the track (Effect → Special → Vocal Reduction & Isolation)
   A. Use default options / Confirm
4. The computer’s built-in sound stops working (across all apps)

This has been difficult because it’s required a system restart for the sound to turn on.

MacOS 12.0.1
Audacity 3.2.5

I am unable to duplicate your issue with Audacity 3.2.5 on Windows 10.
